What this role brought to me

I became a Turing fellow Sept 2021

• Personal research and education proposal

• ​Pilot Short Project Turing 2.0 (Focus: DS Education in MSc prog + Turing Workshop)

• Attended 12 weeks DS&AI Turing Pilot Program 

• Created a Local UoL DS&AI education interest groups (Eric Atwell and Noorhan Abbas members!)

What is/are your highlight/s from the programme?

• Educators need to be upskilled and ready with up to date tools and modalities 
  

• We are a large community

• Loads of resources

Reference group for support:

Turing Data science education study group

• How will you apply some of your learning(s) from the programme to your line of work?

• I will focus on planning and smaller groups of students support for the coding sessions. I usually teach large classes, this will need assistance and coordination!
  

• I will make more use of feedback from students and colleagues.
  

How do you intend to use the programme to impact your community?

• Supporting 'train the trainer' initiatives in my own university.
  
  

• I am receiving support on this by Leeds Institute for Data Analytics and by the participants of our local group for DS&AI educators
  
  

• Collaborating Eric Atwell and Noorahan Abbas, both attending this inspiring ATI programme
