The American Dream

Jay Gatsby's American Dream

Jay Gatsby's American dream is Daisy Buchanan. Daisy Buchanan is Tom Buchanan's wife, as well as Nick Carraway's Cousin Twice Removed. She Is Gatsby's American dream because she is the woman who still has his heart. In the novel, it explains that Gatsby is sitting on the edge of his pier, reaching out to the green light. The green light is Daisy's pier. He had his built right across the river from hers so he could always have a view of Daisy & her house.

Another reason that Daisy Buchanan is Jay Gatsby's American dream, is because of the fact that she is filthy stinking rich. Daisy is from East Egg, so she is old money, meaning all of her wealth is inherited. Gatsby is in love with the fact that she is rich, because he also wants to be a rich, wealthy man. He wants to be rich, have Daisy for himself, have a huge house and a fast car.

Meghan's American Dream

My American dream is Miguel Ortiz. Miguel is a sophomore vocal major in the advanced choir at Arts High. He's my American dream because he still has my heart (yes I know very corny) I try the best I can to have him notice me, without going too far. He seems to notice me more when I ignore him, so that's what I do ._. . He brings me happiness whenever I talk to him or whenever I'm around him.

My other American dream is to be a famous musician. Making music is the one thing I love to do, and is the one thing I do on a daily basis. If I'm not in class, I'm in my major classroom on my instrument. I want to share my talent with the world, and make the world smile with beautiful music. [All photos shown below have me in them :)]
