Devloper:

Small or large company?

Startup or established?

Tech company or traditional?

Freelance?

What did I do to do what I do do

 What is Mammal?

Small web design agency based in Shoreditch

Five people in a coworking space with other startups

About two years old

What do we do at Mammal?

Main project is building apps for a client with the end users being schools. The apps help teachers with lesson preparation, delivery and tracking

Server analytics tools for a local startup

Aim is to have 60/40 split between client work and our own ideas

What technologies do we use at Mammal?

Javascript throughout

Node and Express

Angular

CouchDB (noSQL database)

Anything else?

Full stack

Properly full stack - we deal with everything from deploying to servers, testing, UX/UI, database management, styling etc. etc.

Still lost...

How did I find my job

There are lots of jobs out there

The most contacts I got through GA at the meet and greet

I also looked at job boards

And followed people in the industry on twitter

How did I find my job

I found my job through twitter:

How did I find my job

I wrote an email

How did I find my job

Met for a casual chat

Popped into the office

Got a contract

How did I find my job

Not quite as easy as that.

I had to chase.

Persistence paid off.

My number one tip:

Persistence
