Objective: Measure and describe the relationship between the frequency and the wave length of a wave.

Standard 5.0 Physics: students will use scientific skills and processes to explain the interactions of matter and energy and the energy transformations that occur

Key Words:

Wave -a disturbance on the surface of a liquid body, as the sea or a lake, in the form of a moving ridge or swell.
Wave Length- the distance, measured in the direction of propagation of a wave, between two successive points in the wave that are characterized by the same phase of oscillation.
Frequency- the number of periods or regularly occurring events of any given kind in unit of time, usually in one second.
Measure- ascertain the size, amount, or degree of something by using an instrument or device marked in standard units or by comparing it with an object of known size.
Describe- give an account in words of someone or something, including all the relevant characteristics, qualities, or events.

1.) One example of a wave is a sound wave.
2.) Wavelength is the distance between points in the adjacent cycles of a waveform, this length is usually measured in meters, centimeters, or millimeters.
