TEAM ftw
inspired by google cardboad
requires no additional hardware
no compromise in experience
better usability
faster and easier access of data
different
modules
for specific
situautions
creating databases of the sites
Create a 360 degree photo sphere which contains visuals of the site from only one point
This can be done by implementing quad copters having only 2 necessary features
- a GPS system
- mechanism to capture 360 degree images
accessing visual database
Unlike Google cardboard there is no need of any device or any mounting
visual data can be accessed by any one of the following methods
- Tracking your eyes movement (implemented and demonstrated successfully)
- By moving your mobile or smart watch leading helping in navigating through the photo sphere (implemented successfuly)
...
DEMONSTRATED
skills used
#opencv
#android
#python-sockets
#google-maps-api
accessing visual database
CONTINUED
- By making hand gestures ( partial demonstration)
- using generic arrow keys
- using a leap motion device to effectively navigate with very high accuracy
DEMONSTRATED
skills used
#opencv #PyQt4 #leap-motion #google-maps-api
GAZETRACKING
- Tracking your eye - balls movement for small and accurate adjustments to simulate virtual reality (implemented and demonstrated successfuly)
- To track eyes' location to identify hotspot regions on the web-app where the user pays maximum attention (implemented and demonstrated successfuly)
DEMONSTRATED
skills used #opencv
what if photo spheres cannot be created?
- In that case static maps screen shots are created and converted into 3D models by applying various renders (partially implemented)
- Nearby places are determined as well as there longitudes, which on comparison with locations co-ordinates help in determining there distance and and of deviation(successfully implemented)
- Hence a 3D render is created (successfully implemented)
- Also a dynamic sun is located with real lighting and and changing location based on the time of the day and month of the year (successfully implemented). It helps in more realistic visualisation of the scene.
DEMONSTRATED
skills used
#vPython
#google-maps-api
Technology stack
- Python
- OpenCV Framework
- Google apis
- PyQt4 (for UI)
- vpython (for 3D modelling)
- numpy (for mathematical calculations)
- python sockets (for communication with android)
why is this idea worthy?
YES! BECAUSE,
VERY LESS RESOURCE CONSUMING AND EASILY DEPLOY-ABLE
COST EFFECTIVE AS NO EXTRA VR DEVICE IS REQUIRED BUT SUCCEEDS IN PROVIDING SAME AND MORE COMFORTABLE EXPERIENCE
WHAT ALL COULD NOT BE DONE IN 24 HOURS...
-
Creating virtual houses, as a part of 3D modelling. This would not only help the customer have a much better overview but also increse the chances of business
- 3D Bookmarking. This can help the consumer create short notes or mark places in the 3D domain to facilitate better decision making.
- Implementing virtual tour using leap-motion. The device's high accuracy would help the user make much more comfortable navigation
