I Timothy 1:15-16  -  “This is a true saying, and everyone should believe it: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners - and I was the worst of them all.  But that is why God had mercy on me,

so that Christ Jesus could use me as a prime example of his great patience with even the worst sinners.  Then others will realize that they, too, can believe in him and receive

eternal life.”

Romans 3:22   -  “We are made right in God’s sight when we trust Jesus Christ to take away our sins.  And we all can be saved in this same way, no matter who we are or what we have done.”

II Corinthians 5:16-17

"So we have stopped evaluating others from a human point of view. At one time we thought of Christ merely from a human point of view. How differently we know him now! This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!"

We are made NEW when we develop:

- New  THOUGHTS

- New EMOTIONS

- NEW  DESIRES

- New  HABITS

Philippians 2:12-13

"Dear friends, you always followed my instructions when I was with you. And now that I am away, it is even more important. Work hard to show the results of your salvation, obeying God with deep reverence and fear. For God is working in you, giving you the DESIRE and the power to do what pleases him."

The THINGS, the OBJECTS

we desire are a WINDOW into our hearts

Wanting less is a greater blessing than having more.

9 Basic Spiritual Desires

1.  Desire to be PERFECT

2. Desire to be NEEDED

3.  Desire to be SUCCESSFUL

4.  Desire to be SPECIAL

5. Desire to PERCEIVE

6. Desire for CERTAINTY/SECURITY

7. Desire to AVOID PAIN

8. Desire to be AGAINST

9.  Desire to AVOID

1.  God knows the desires of your heart;

he is looking into your heart to see if you desire him.

2.  What you desire is your object of worship. If your greatest desire is anything less than God then you are in idolatry.

3.  Your desire is where you place your faith, hope, and love; it is where you expect that your desire will be satisfied.

4. God responds to people that desire Him with their whole heart, those that hunger and thirst for Him and His righteousness.

5.  If we desire the desire, to desire God above all else, then He can change our heart to desire Him more than life itself.
