Survey analysis - target audience

From the first question here, i can see that 63% of the answers following will be based on the male opinion, therefore the data may not be generalisable to my whole target audience as much as i'd like it to be.

I can see that a lot of the results received in my survey are aged 11-20 which is useful to me more than other age ranges because its within my target audience

Magazine interest Questions

You can see here that the majority of people read rock magazines, closely followed by the pop genre. This means that the magazine i am likely to make will be a rock/ indie rock magazine because it was the most popular, and is most likely to sell more.

From the pie chart above, you can see that alot of people spend little time actually reading the magazines. This means that i will have to make the content of my magazine stand out to others, and/or include exciting features inside.

Financial Questions

From the bar graph here, i can see that no-one thought that the current prices of music magazines are under-priced. However, it is a 50-50 split between reasonably priced and over-priced, meaning that the price of my magazine may have to be slightly cheaper than others.

From the optional prices shown in the question, many people thought that the price should be between £1 and £3. The higher end of this price range seems about right for a music magazine and i shall include these ideas when advertising the price on my magazine.

Comparing the two questions, i can see that the price range is £1-£3. Alot of people have said that this is reasonably priced, and possibly some of the people who chose overpriced have also chosen a lower price category in the Q. on the right.

Magazine preference

From the chart above, you can see that the main reason that people read music magazines is because popular bands are featured inside. From this, i can tell that i will need to advertise popular bands on the FC of my magazine to get people interested

From the qualitative data collected in this question here, i can see that the majority of people have recognized vibe, kerrang!, NME and Q. These are all similar genres to the magazine I will make so I will take inspiration from these magazines becasue they all seem to be memorable to the public

Associating factors in magazines

The data collected in this graph is quite mixed. The recommendations from the public are as shown, red; black; yellow and bright colours. This means that it does follow my original colour scheme of red, black, white and yellow.

Once again, this qualitative data is useful because its giving me their own opinions. A theme occurring is that it should be bold in title, normal in text, colourful and  some pictures. From this i will be able to plan a good design for my magazine that hopefully, lots of readers will like.
