Opening Titles

Production Ident

A common convention in film opening titles is including the production company's idents. As the word indicates, this creates an identity for the company so that audiences are able to identify the production company easily. I created my own indent which fulfilled this convention as I was able to create my own company's identity and this can add to the professionalism of the product as I was able to identify this convention and create my own ident to meet the convention of the opening titles.

Credits

Also, much like other film openings, I included the credits of the several features like casting and director. This is another convention of film openings as the different people have to be credited. In my film, I tried to feature as many credits which were common for my genre. In addition, I included the featured actors as well as the top billed actors which are also a common convention, although, this is usually ignored in the similar media products as mine.

Narrative Structure

Todorov's Theory

1. State of equilibrium

2. Disruption

3. Recognition of disruption

4. Attempt to repair the disruption

5. Return to equilibrium

Conforming to the theory

1. In the beginning, there is an equilibrium as we see the four characters sitting on the bench. Also, Zora describes it to be a normal day which tells us that this is a normal situation.

2.  When Zora walks away, the disruption arises as we see an aggressive tap on the shoulder by a person in a hoodie. We are unable to identify who the person is but we see Zora scared as says "I didn't mean to do it" which suggests that this is the disruption.

Challenging the theory

We don't see an attempt to the repair the disruption because we are left with a cliff hanger. Therefore, there is no return to equilibrium as the sequence was only two minutes long and it ended with a cliff hanger.
