The gaze is the concept of how the audience views the people represented.

Feminists view:

• How many look at women
• How women look at themselves
• how women look at other women

Gaze and Feminist theory

Laura Mulvey came up with the term 'Male Gaze' in 1975 and she believes that film audiences have to view from the view and perspective of a heterosexual male. 

Features of the Male Gaze

• The camera focuses on the curvy aspects of a woman body
• Male Gaze Objectifies women. The female is presented in a way that a heterosexual male would want to see
