My fictional country(Orbrait)

Azure (Blue - Top Band): Represents the "Higher Authority" and the vast African sky that unites the diverse tribes and peoples of the northern territory. In heraldry, it signifies loyalty and truth.

Argent (White - Middle Band): Represents the "Path of Peace" and the literal salt/mineral wealth that historically flowed through the Saharan trade routes. It acts as the "metal" that separates and stabilizes the other colors.

Sable (Black - Bottom Band): Represents the "Foundation of the Earth." This honors the rich soil of the Nile and the resilience of a people who have endured through history. In heraldry, it stands for constancy.

Vert (Green - Hoist Triangle): Represents the "Fertile Origin." Because it is at the hoist (the part attached to the pole), it signifies that the nation’s lifeblood and growth come from its agricultural heartlands and the Sahel.

Caltrap(3 reasons):

Immovable Defense: Historically, a caltrap was used to stop cavalry and invaders in their tracks. On your flag, it symbolizes that while your nation is vast and welcoming, its borders are impenetrable to those who wish it harm.

Pointed Vigilance: The spikes point in all directions, representing your nation's ability to monitor and defend its interests across the North, South, East, and West of the continent.

The "Iron Star": Unlike the common five-pointed stars seen on other flags, the Caltrap is an "Iron Star"—it is industrial, protective, and signifies a nation built on strength and preparation rather than just luck.
