Magento 2 comes with rich [REST API](http://devdocs.magento.com/guides/v2.0/get-started/bk-get-started-api.html) support, which contains almost every features you can find in the native front end. So in theory, we can build a standalone web app as an alternative storefront, which consumes the API provided by a headless Magento 2 instance.
