How can I benefit from the Bolt.Works app?
Bolt.Works puts all the information you need to do your job in one place. In the app, you can see the duration of the job, contacts and addresses, among other things. You can check the location of the job using the map in the app and navigate to the job site. You can also use the app to chat, which is the easiest way to communicate with your recruiter.
You can also apply for new jobs with just a few clicks on the "Find work" link. Please only apply for jobs that you can travel to and can commit time to. You can log your hours quickly and easily in the app.
The app allows both employees and job subscribers to rate and recommend each other. Good workers will also find it easier to find work in the future and receive better pay.
Things to remember at the beginning of your employment
TAX CARD AND ACCOUNT NUMBER
Please add your account number to the app at the beginning of your employment. You can add your account number to your profile under "Account number". There is no need to submit a tax card separately, we will receive your tax information directly from the tax office.
Please check your working hours and breaks before you start work. Working hours vary by job and industry. You must arrive on site well in advance of your working hours to start work at the agreed time. Every worker contributes to the success of the work package and punctual working hours keep the work on schedule.

Safety at
Bolt.Works
Text
At Bolt.Works we do everything we can to ensure that accidents at work are prevented and that everyone goes home safely. Safety at work is something we all share and it's up to you to make a difference by working safely, maintaining the necessary equipment and following your supervisor's instructions.
Your responsible recruiter is not on site, so we value your comments about the site and safety. You can report safety observations directly from the home page of the app under "Report a safety observation".
We will look into every safety observation in detail. However, if something does happen, it is very important that we are informed as soon as possible. In the event of a serious accident at work, please contact the nearest health service. If the need for treatment is not acute, follow the instructions on the application. Remember to tell your doctor that you have had an accident at work.
Your recruiter will help you throughout the accident process. Please keep in active contact with your recruiter to ensure a smooth return to work.
Working hours
Working hours vary according to the job and the sector. Please check your working hours and the breaks you are entitled to before the work shift.
GET TO WORK ON TIME
You must be on workplace well before the start of the shift to ensure that the work can start at the agreed time. Every worker contributes to the success of the work package and punctuality keeps the work on schedule.
Time sheets
Hours worked must be recorded daily in the application for payroll purposes. The hours are approved by the client and then transferred to payroll.
Abnormal working hours (e.g. overtime or a shorter than normal working day) must always be agreed in advance with the workplace contact and your recruiter, for example via chat in the application.

Registration of working hours
1. Select the correct task in the application and go to the timesheet.
2. Click on 'Fill Hours' and enter the details of the working day. The application will automatically calculate the duration of the working day when you enter the start and end times. You can also add a job number to the timesheet if required, as well as any shifts.
3. You can scroll backwards in the weekly history view to see the hours for previous weeks.

1. Select the correct assignment
You can see your assignment in your profile. Select the right assignment and go to the hours for the job.
You will also receive a link to your email with the hours log, which will automatically take you to step 2.

Working day information
WORKING HOURS AND DURATION OF WORK
Bolt automatically calculates the duration of the working day when you enter the start and end times of the work clock. For construction jobs, the normal working day is 8 hours plus a 30-minute unpaid lunch break, but in shift work or other industries the working day may be different.
Please always ensure that the hours worked are correctly recorded in the system.
If you work a working day of a different length (e.g. overtime), you must agree in advance with the contact person at the workplace and Bolt
recruitment.
Working day information
Work-related driving is driving during the working day on behalf of a client. Work-related driving can be, for example, a change of workplace during the working day or transport tasks carried out in your own car.
A commute, i.e. a journey from a home address to a place of work, does not count as working time.
When entering daily work-related driving in the application, please enter the distance (km), driving type and the route. The route should be entered with address accuracy.
For example
A visit to a hardware store during the working day is entered as follows:
Visit to a hardware store (Work street 3 - Hardware street 1 - Work street 3)
WORK-RELATED DRIVING

What do I do if I can't get to work?
You must report your absence as soon as you fall ill, before the start of your shift. The notification should first be made to the contact person at the place of work, whose contact details can be found in the application mandate.
The notification must be made by telephone. It is important to report your absence so that a replacement can be found if necessary. Please enter the start date of your absence and a brief description of your situation in the absence record in the application. Enter one day as the duration of your absence. Then save the absence record.
Call your Bolt.Works health advisor who will advise you on how to proceed. If necessary, submit a medical certificate to the app. The medical certificate must include the employer's details.
Occupational health services
Bolt.Works' occupational health care is provided by Terveystalo. You will always need a health insurance voucher to use the occupational health service.
The commitment is valid for a maximum of three days and you will need a separate commitment for each visit. You can get a payment commitment from your health visitor by calling the self-report line or from your recruiter by sending a chat message.
Please note that Terveystalo is entitled to charge you for your visit as a private person if you do not have a valid payment commitment.
Occupational health services
Bolt.Works provides general occupational health care for its employees. This means that in addition to preventive check-ups, you can also see a general practitioner if necessary. The doctor can also refer you for laboratory tests and to a specialist if this is essential for your health. The contract also covers work-related vaccinations. Please always ensure that you have a valid health insurance commitment.
Which services are covered by an occupational health contract?
Occupational health care generally does not include treatment of underlying diseases or prescription refills. Unfortunately, we are also unable to provide driving licence renewal (excluding those related to the job description) and dental care.
Which services are not covered by an occupational health contract?
Absences from work
If you fall ill, always follow the instructions in the employee app.
- Bolt.Works' occupational health service is organised by Terveystalo.
- You will always need a separate commitment from Bolt.Works to visit the occupational health centre. The permit is valid for a maximum of three days and you will need a separate permit for each visit. You can obtain a payment undertaking from your health visitor or your recruiter. The health centre is entitled to charge you for your visit as a private individual if you do not have a valid health insurance voucher.
- Sick pay is always governed by the collective agreement.
- Collective agreements contain different provisions on, among other things, the basis for payment of sick leave and the length of the period to be compensated.
- Accidents during holidays are treated as sick leave, but a medical certificate is always required.
Sick leave
Absences from work
- In the event of a serious accident, go to the nearest health care unit.
- In the event of an accident at work, always follow the instructions in the employee app.
- The collective agreement determines the period of time during which the employer is obliged to pay wages for the incapacity for work caused by the accident at work and the duration of the employer's obligation to pay.
- If the employer's obligation to pay ends, the obligation to pay compensation is transferred to the insurance company. Our insurance company is LähiTapiola.
-
If a child under the age of 10 falls ill, please always follow the instructions in the employee application.
- Temporary leave always requires a medical certificate.
- The pay and any qualifying days are determined by the collective agreement.

Other absences
-
Unannounced absence not agreed in advance or not reported as instructed.
-
Unpaid!
- A reduced working time off, or 'bank holiday', is a procedure used in some collective agreements to compensate for average working time.
- Depending on the collective agreement, the compensatory allowance is either always paid at the time of payment or, in some collective agreements, it may be accrued at the time of payment.
- If necessary, your recruiter/payroll administrator can give you more information, for example on the number of hours you have accrued.
Unauthorised absence
A reduced working time off
Other absences
This absence type is used to record unpaid absences and paid absences for which there is no separate absence type in the system. For example:
o parental leave
o reserve refresher training
o agreed unpaid leave
Absences recorded as other absences are always dealt with on a case-by-case and collective agreement basis and the payroll administrator/responsible recruiter will contact the employee if necessary.
Medical examination for employment
o If the start or continuation of the employment relationship is conditional on a medical examination, the loss of working time lost due to the medical examination and related laboratory visits will be compensated. Unless it has been possible to arrange medical visits outside working hours.
o Here too, there are differences in what, when and how compensation is paid, depending on the collective agreement.
Occupational safety courses
o To record the short training courses required at work and to prepare/instruct for safety at work.
Working elsewhere
o Record this if you are unable to work for us because of another job.
Other absences
For comprehensive guidance on how to accrue, use and pay annual leave, see below.
Under the annual leave scheme, an employee earns paid annual leave each calendar year. Annual leave starts after 2 or 6 months of employment, depending on the collective agreement.
The annual leave scheme covers some workers in the commercial sector and workers in the tourism and catering sector.
Please always agree the annual leave to be taken with the client and the Bolt employee and record the year of absence to be taken to ensure payment of wages.

Earning and using annual leave

Text
Example: Matti has started working at Bolt on 1 August 2023. He will work at least 14 days every month. Matti will have worked for 8 months by the end of the leave year on 31.3.2024. As his employment will have lasted less than a year by 31.3.2024, he will accrue 2 days of leave per month.
.
8 months * 2 days = 16 days of annual leave
Matti can use these days from 2.5.2024.
Earning and using annual leave
Text
With the exception of a few collective agreements, there is one Saturday for every five days of holiday. So when you register your annual leave, remember to include Saturdays.
o Public holidays do not count towards annual leave.
o At Bolt, we have our own local agreement according to which annual holiday pay and any holiday pay are paid according to the normal pay schedule (collective agreements have different practices for paying these).
Example. The annual holiday pay and holiday allowance for the period 3-9 June will be paid on Friday 14 June 2024 and the holiday pay and allowance for the period 10-16 June will be paid on the next payday 28 June 2024.
The holiday pay calculation is based on salaries paid during the leave year (excluding, for example, overtime increments and emergency work). The basis for calculating holiday pay is determined by the collective agreement.
Holiday pay
o The Annual Leave Act does not recognise holiday pay, but is TES-based and generally 50% of holiday pay, with a few exceptions.
o A few collective agreements in the construction sector include holiday pay as well as holiday pay in the same % basis.
o For example, in the building, painting, infrastructure and waterproofing sectors
Final account
o Paid according to the normal payroll schedule after you have returned any work equipment you received from Bolt. Bolt.Works reserves the right to deduct the value of any unreturned equipment from your final account.
o Any unused annual leave days in the final account will be paid as annual leave pay.
o In addition, at the end of the employment relationship, any flexitime/banking hours will be compensated and any unpaid
any unpaid annual leave/deferment.
