Technology used in the Evaluation

In addition to technology I have already discussed, such as Premiere Pro, Blogger, Word and YouTube, I used a variety of Web Tools in my evaluation to present my work in visually interesting ways which I will now discuss the pros and cons of.

Prezi

I used Prezi to present my information in a clear and visually interesting way.

Pros:

  • Offers a range of visually interesting templates
  • Automatically saves as you work
  • Changes embedded Prezis automatically

 

Cons:

  • Doesn't support gifs
  • Is very time-consuming

Emaze

I used Emaze to present my information in an interesting way.

Pros:

  • Visually engaging and interesting
  • Easy to use
  • Supports videos, photos, gifs and links
  • Updates automatically any Emazes that have been embedded

 

Cons:

  • Changing font size is quite hard as there is a limited range offered
  • Time-consuming

Coggle

I used Coggle to create bold, colourful mind maps.

Pros:

  • Visually interesting
  • Relatively quick to create
  • Tools are easy to use
  • Supports pictures

 

Cons:

  • ​Limited number of main branches can be added
  • Sometimes the click and drag can be a bit hard to navigate

Slides

I used Slides to create simple but effective presentations of key information.

Pros:

  • Very easy to navigate
  • Simple to create
  • Supports pictures and videos

 

Cons:

  • ​No themed templates
  • Basic transitions that can't be changed

ImgFlip

I used ImgFlip to create short clips of a series of chosen photos.

Pros:

  • Very quick to make
  • Clearly illustrates points with examples
  • Order of photos can be changed at any time

 

Cons:

  • ​Not supported on the school computers

Survey Monkey

I used Survey Monkey to create an online questionnaire for our music video that was easily accessible to the public.

Pros:

  • Very easy to set up and use
  • The website automatically analyses the results and creates graphs/bar charts for it
  • The survey is anonymous meaning people are less likely to be put off answering
  • It gives a good mix of quantitative and qualitative feedback 

 

Cons:

  • ​On the free account you are limited to 10 questions only
