Shooting with the Gear 360
Important to do tests
- camera height
- stitching lines
- still camera or moving ? (be careful) tripod/monopod recommended
- distance: too far / too close
- clean lenses after each take
- don't forget photo! it can be good also
Sound
Real 3D spatialized sound:
Ambisonics microphones
4 o 5 mics // 4 axes
+ post-production decoding / re-sync etc.
we won't have enough time for that
Stitching
after shooting, before editing
- Stitch? "assemble" the spherical front/rear file to create one flat 360° equirectangular file, ratio 2:1
- Stitching software by Samsung Gear 360 Action Director for PC, called Gear 360 for Mac.
- stitching = time consuming. don't stitch all takes ! on set: take notes about your takes. later: watch, select takes before stitching.
Editing
As usual with FCPX or Premiere Pro CC
Updated versions of Final Cut Pro X
and Premiere Pro CC manage stitched 360 video
VFX / Advanced Compositing
Plugin After Effects CC: SkyBox Studio (After Effects) or 360 Toolbox (FCPX)
Very Advanced level !
