- 1 in every 6 Americans face the reality of hunger
- Alabama has the second highest rate of food hardship
- Food Assistance Programs are unable to provide enough food or reach enough people to end hunger

Research methods
- Focus Groups: gather people to talk about their needs, attitudes, and habits to better understand the people that need help and why they are in need.
- Statistical Research: conducted through survey or census to gather information to understand the logistics of the problem
- Interviews: personal interviews usually provide more details than a focus group to better understand each individual's situation
RECOMMENDATIONS
Through research The Food Assistance Division can become much more efficient at allocating their resources to those in need. If more research was conducted there would be more knowledge about the issues of Hunger & Instability in Alabama. This knowledge would allow for better dispersal of food and could help to provide food to all Alabamians.
