Guitar Stuff for 5.27.21

 

1) Warm-up: Play through E chromatic scale using the tab/diagram below.  Take your time and use all four fingers to play it, and apply the new technique involving simultaneously playing the string while fretting the note.

 

2) Play through the pyramid of half/quarter/eighth notes using the chord of your choice and a metronome (recommended speed is 80 to 120 BPM). Use only downstrokes, and count numbers aloud or in your head to retain proper rhythm.

 

3) The "C family": try playing through the rhythm pyramid, as well as any other rhythm exercise we've used, to practice C major and F major.

The transition from E major to A2 requires simply moving your #2 and #3 fingers down one string, and strumming in the usual manner.

You can even leave your #1 finger on the G string for ease of transition, since it's "blocked" by the 3rd finger on the 2nd fret!
