Weathering, Erosion, Deposition Definitions

Weathering: natural process by which atmospheric and enviromental agents, such as wind, rain, and temperature changes, disintergrates and decomposes rock.

Erosion: process by which wind, water, ice or gravity transports soil and sediment from one location to another.

Deposition: (geology) process by which material is laid down.

What is a Glacier?

A Glacier is a slowly moving mass or river of ice formed by the accumulation and compaction of snow on mountains or near the poles.

What is a weathering agent?

Any various weathering processes that cause physical disintegration 

What is an Arete?

A sharp-edged mountain ridge.
