What is it
Site sync provides a user interface for automatic secure synchronization between any environments such as staging, testing, development and production.
How it works
- Configure the URL and Access Credentials to any number of servers
- Pick what type of content to synchronize
- Decide if you want to sync all updated content in all languages or pick and choose
- Sync Now or schedule regular synchronizations
How it really works
- Uses HTTP and Sitefinity Authentication for syncing content
- Understands content dependencies and works with all content types(including custom content)
- It does smart syncing by sending a representation only of the new and updated content items that the recipient server immediately publishes.
What Content Is supported
Every content type supported by sitefinity, excluding Forms and Forums, is supported by Site Sync. This includes Pages, Templates, Widgets, Images, Documents, Video, Taxonomy and custom content types built with Module builder
What Is code Sync
While Site Sync works for content, templates, widget templates and content schema, Code Sync and Code Deploy are developer focused additions to site sync that work for automated synchronization and deployment of code through Visual Studio.
