AIM-PRO Pedagogical Constitution

Outlines the pedagogical principles that guide the creation of our tools, resources, and learning scenarios.

Why do we need a pedagogical constitution?

AIM-PRO utilizes Open Educational Resources (OERs), Generative AI, Model-Driven Engineering (MDE), and Digital Twin technologies to create personalized, sustainable, and inclusive learning environments.

Building AI competencies requires more than technical know‑how: it demands a mix of practical skills, critical thinking, ethical awareness, and the ability to adapt to fast‑changing technologies (cf. Howard et al., 2025).

Elena, the Skeptical HR Director

Elena works in a traditional Small-to-Medium Enterprise (SME) with a heterogeneous workforce. She is interested in digital transformation but feels psychological pressure and hears employees expressing that the change may be too difficult. Her ICT profile reflects a low attitude/lower self-efficacy.

Persona - AI competency goal

Core pedagogical principles

To ensure that AIM-PRO's educational interventions are beneficial and deeply effective the context of the user and their AI competency goals should be matched with effective strategies to develop digital competencies (Tondeur et al., 2025).

Fig. 1. SQD-model for digital technologies (Tondeur et al., 2025).

1. Modelling and exploration are essential to familiarise individuals with AI technologies.

2. Learners must critically reflect on and engage with both the potential and limitations of AI technologies.

3. A range of collaborative design activities are necessary to train individuals in creating environments to work with AI.

4. A cycle of authentic experiences and feedback is needed to  support individuals to use AI in their practice.

5. Affective characteristics should be taken into account when preparing individuals for developing their AI competencies.

Continuous Feedback

Because Elena has a lower ICT attitude, the research indicates she will rely more heavily on feedback for confirmation and support as she develops integrated learning designs.

Addressing the Affective Dimension

Training must focus on her "Emotional Sphere" to mitigate stress and frustration. Addressing her "Sensitivity to Tech Gaps" is also vital, as she needs to ensure that AI adoption doesn't marginalize employees with lower digital competence.

Modelling

She needs to observe Role Models (like other successful SME managers) demonstrating tangible benefits of AI to build her confidence.
