The History

Started in 2016, we had no idea what we were doing. Clint was installing things in prod at meetups at this time. 6 companies and iterations later...

Workfront with kops,

then EKS, AKS, GKE, Oracle Cloud, and Linode's LKE

All evaluated as Cloud Native

2020, after a

discussion in

Forge Utah slack

# CHAPTER 2

Principles

  1. Git is the Workflow
  2. Metrics > Logs > Shelling
  3. We are Not Special
  4. Separation of Concerns
  5. SemVer Everywhere!
  6. Boldly Delete Everything but PVCs
  7. One place for alerts (one exception)

Git is the Workflow

  1. git clone
  2. git checkout -b my-branch
  3. work
  4. git commit, go back to 3 until done
  5. git push
  6. make PR
  7. approval from someone else (hopefully)
  8. merge to trunk, git checkout trunk, go back to 2
