The Turning the Page Board of Directors works to steer Turning the Page towards a sustainable future by ensuring we have adequate resources to advance our mission.
Our Board members benefit by:
- Accessing a professional network within our Board of Directors and Advisory Boards;
- Developing their leadership skills;
- Getting a closer look at issues and opportunities facing families in Washington, DC and Chicago

Roles by Committee
Directors support the organization by serving on at least one of committee. Committees meet throughout the year.

| -Creates, approves, and updates (as necessary) policies that help ensure the assets of the organization are protected. -Ensures policies and procedures for financial transactions are documented in a manual, and the manual is reviewed annually, and updated as necessary. -Ensures approved financial policies and procedures are being followed |
-Creates long-range strategy of Turning the Page for achieving its mission to promote family engagement and parent leadership. -Provides oversight of the strategic direction of the organization. -Assesses current and future acquisitions, joint ventures and strategic alliances |
-Develops an annual operating budget with TTP staff. -Approves the operating budget within the finance committee. -Monitors adherence to the budget. -Sets long-range financial goals along with funding strategies to achieve them. -Presents all financial goals and proposals to the board of directors for approval. -Reviews major grants and associated terms. |
-Oversees development and implementation of the Fundraising Plan. -Identifies and solicits funds from external sources of support, working with the Development Coordinator(s) |
