About the Course 472

  • Course Topics
  • Grading Scheme
  • Timeline of Implementation
  • During the study course, students will recap many previous topics related to electronics, transmission systems, coding-decoding and queueing theory
  • The study course is partly based on the official CCNP SWITCH 642-813 manual and ITU documents
  • During the study course, students will be introduced to the following:
    • Operation of OSI second layer (Layer 2)
    • Multilayer (MLS) switch
    • Basic VLAN concepts
    • Inter VLAN communication through Layer 3 routing
    • Switch port aggregation with EtherChannel,
    • Spanning tree protocol  (SPT)
    • Multilayer switching with CEF
    • Ethernet applications in CAMPUS networks
    • Enterprise network
    • Ethernet carrier environment
    • Switching in optical networks
    • Network Security
    • and the Foundations of Engineering if any gaps will be found
