Topic: Water

Issue Addressed: Water Pollution

Overview:

Mobile application for reporting pollution incidents and enables volunteers to provide aid.

Reason:

Provide a platform for concerned citizens , volunteers, as well as the concerned authorities.

Target Audience:

  • People concerned about environmental issues when they visit a beach or a lake

  • Government authorities such as EPA and the local councils.

Scope:  Victoria, Australia.

System Architecture

Development Plan

Iteration 1

  • As a user, I want to report a pollution incident, so that actions can be taken.
  • As a user, I want to view the historical reports and status of this location so that I can plan my visit or I can help to clean this place.

Data Sets:

National Pollutant Inventory, and Victorian pollutant inventory, to add pollution incidents that fit the purpose of the system.

Due Date:

20th Aug 17

Iteration 2

  • As a user, I want to volunteer in cleaning beaches/lakes so that I can make better places for everyone.
  • As a user I want to see how I contribute to lower the water pollution in Victoria.

Data Sets:

Number of waste collection services, and garbage removal requests with resolution times.

4th Sep 17

Iteration 3

  • As an environment official, I want to get pollution reports so that proper actions can be taken.

Data Sets:

Weather forecast for Victoria.
