It is a layout of the rules for behaviour and provides a preemptive warning.

Importance of Codes of Ethcs

• Clearly Identify the company’s standards and expectations.
• self-regulation is often preferable to legal supervision.
• Avoid potential problems and to address problems when they arise.
• Develop a document that will serve as a reference for corrective actions
• Prevents ‘innocent’ violations of ethics
