Bush administration seeks midnight ruling on UIGEA implementation

The Federal Reserve and the Treasury Department issued a joint final rule to implement the United Nations Organization (UIGEA), which has been stagnant since 2006 due to the ambiguity of the original law. By establishing policies to prevent this type of transaction, the rule will require all financial institutions and payment processors to stop any payments related to illegal Internet gambling by Dec. 1, 2009.  파워볼게임

The biggest problem that opponents of the bill are pointing out is that there is still no clear definition of what constitutes Internet gambling, as lottery, horse racing, and other certain gambling is allowed online in many states. Analysts agree that banks would simply stop all gambling transactions rather than try to figure out which ones are which. Such an approach would cause havoc in the legitimate markets that the law sought to protect.
