WHAT IS IT

What is a gas mask in the first place. What was it used for?

The Gas Mask is a mask used to protect the user from inhaling airborne pollutants and toxic gases.The mask forms a sealed cover over the nose and mouth ,but may also cover the eyes and other vulnerable soft tissues of the face. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gas_mask)

WHY

Why in the first place was this invented?

The reason why i invented the gas mask was too simply just protect people from dangerous toxins and gases and harmful fumes.

IMPACT

The creation of the gas mask helped many people. It helped our us soldiers from tear gas. At one point was when the gas mask had the most impact . The Dust Bowl.

when the Dust Bowl took place and helped thousands from the sand being inhaled into their lungs.

THE FIRST

The whole way the gas mask was invented was because on July 25,1916, Garret Morgan made national news for using his gas mask to rescue 32 men trapped during an explosion in an underground tunnel 250 feet beneath Lake Erie.

BABY GAS MASK

Later on Garrett Morgan realized that baby's didn't have a chance in a gas bombing, tear gas, toxins, etc.

So he needed to come up with an idea where baby's would be protected. and so he did. Here's a pic of what it looks like.
