Webshops are more popular than ever and almost all companies that sell physical stuff got a webshop these days. Either a stand alone webshop or having the shop as a part of their current webdesign. Some of the most popular CMS systems for webshops these days are WooCommerce (with WordPress), Magento, Shopify and Joomla,. Which system you should go with depends entirely on your setup and your needs. But for about 80% of the webshops out there, a WooCommerce option is often enough to handle everything, even large amount of visitors and a high order flow. It's also a webshop system that is easy to expand and improve upon. It's open source, so if you know a little bit about programmer or can hire a programmer you can often modify it to fit your needs perfectly. Something that is often much harder and more expensive with systems such as Magento or Shopify. Because of this we almost always recommend that people use the WordPress Webshop called WooCommerce unless you got a complex or large webshop.

In the first slide I mentioned that WooCommerce would be the best webshop system to go with. In many cases this is correct but there will almost always be cases some other system is a better fit. For many medium to large sized companies a system like ShopWare or Shopify can often be a better choice, and for larger companies Magento is often really good. But 90% of the companies out there running a webshop are small to medium sized businesses and here a WordPress/WooCommerce webshop build in the right webdesign theme can handle almost all of their needs. You may need to code a special function or tweak the webdesign to fit your needs, but this is often very easy with WordPress.It's open source so you can even tweak the core files (while not recommended) if that is what you wish.
