DH proper
- DH as a discipline/field of study – 'fag'
- problems that transcend traditional disciplines
- fundamental solution approaches for research questions in humanities disciplines
- not limited to concrete questions, but focus on general principles and transferrable solutions
Digital X
- sum of 'old' and 'new' disciplines transformed by digital media and methods
- paradigmatic changes or transformations = 'computer…X' or 'X…informatics'
- DH as individually transformed humanities disciplines
X with DH
- DH approaches and practices mainly (or solely) apply to the methodological-practical part of an individual discipline
- DH as 'methods' in traditional disciplines, broadening the methods canon and set of available tools
