The cover is divided in two halves, one contains plain background, other has a news excerpt in the background which is synced with half of Taylor’s image( This gives audience effect that she has high reputation in news paper as the album name suggests. The title “reputation” is in funky and glamorous fonts, it goes with the newspaper background and it is written on very top left, isolated and only prominent writing. (This could signify Taylor’s eminence to the audience.)

Main image is of Taylor. She looks very mysterious, conveying a lot of meaning through her eyes. She is wearing her red lipstick. (The image does not really attract male gaze but attracts fans for mystery, the aura that she has created around her selves.) Color palette is grey, this could signify newspaper colors to signify reputation and fame. Even Taylor is wearing a grey shirt.

Taylor’s name has not been mentioned in very prominence only in the newspaper layout on right side. (This gives audience effect that she does not need any introduction, everyone is familiar with her.) The choker in Taylor’s neck could have a hidden meaning which could be that she is being choked by industry or her own reputation.

The  back cover has a quite unique idea which we do not often see. It has a close-up image of the face of the artist. It is also in gray-scale mode like the front and the inlay. The brightness is increased do the face looks quite bright and this bright space has the song list written on it. On the top left corner is the bar code. Along the left edge is the detail about the recording and releasing company and the copy right etc.
