List of Green house Gases
- Carbon Dioxide
- Methane
- Nitrous Oxide
- Water Vapour
- CFCs
- Ozone
The Process
The sun reflects heat into the earths atmosphere and the ozone traps it into the earths atmosphere causing the earth to be warmer.

When the earth is warmed up it sends heat rays of its own called infrared waves. Those that don't pass the atmosphere are absorbed by the green house gases.
The Greenhouse Gases
Examples of effects
Examples of effects
- Deforestation
- CFCs
- Oil and petrol engines
- Radiation
- fossil fuels
- Global Warming
Effects Explained
Cars and trucks
- Vehicles powered by fossil fuels (gasoline)make greenhouse gases that cause global waring. At gas stations, people fill their cars and trucks with gasoline that burns to make the engery needed to make our cars move. Burning gasoline makes carbon dioxide and nitrous oxide, which come out of the tailpipe and go into the atmposhere
Factories and Power Plants
Factories and power planets usually burn fossil fuels, putting hue amounts of greenhouse gases so that people can turn on the lights, the computer or the air conditioning. However, many cities are switching their power o sources that do not cause global warming like wind, solar or hydropwer.
Farm Animals
A Greenhouse gases called Methane is made in their bellies as they digest the grass and grain they eat. The gas is released from the animals (cows) producing abut 17% of the methane in the atmopshere
Clouds
Clouds reflects sunlight, providing shade, which keeps Earth's surface cool. However, the water within clouds is a greenhouse gas. It traps heat in the atmosphere by bouncing energy back towards the earth. Scientists still disagree about whether cloudy skies do more to coll or warm the earth. But if global warming continues , they say there will be more clouds in our atmosphere.
Deforestation
Wildfire release carbon dioxide, a greenhouse into the atmosphere. However, if the planets grow again, they about the same amount of carbon dioxde from the atmosphere. So, fires increase greenhouse gases right when they burn, but not over long timescales
How To Stop This Effect?
- Reduce, Reuse and Recycle
- Use less Heat and air Conditioning
- Replace your light bulbs
- Drive less and Walk more
- Use Less hot water
- Use the off Switch
- Planet a tree
