Hi Alexandria ^_^

I went to the

Apothecary Museum

Apothecary

Apothecary is a store and a job where people make and mix herbs. These herbs are used to heal people if they are sick. Sadly, it doesn't always work. Martha Washington bought some herbs for her fever but, it didn't work and she died a while after.

Apothecaries are similar to a modern pharmacy. Some examples are: Walgreens, CVS, Rite Aid, and lots more. One difference between modern pharmacies and apothecaries is that now a days you need to go to a doctor to get medicine. Back then you could walk in and say, "Hooketh me up with thy meth."

WHY DID WE NEED APOTHECARY?

Some things that stuck out to me

  • The original makers of Coca Cola where drugists
  • They used some crazy and weird plants for healing
  • They had lots of storage and a pully to move all the ingredients around

Inventor's Hall of fame

Heart Valves

Don't They Look Awesome?

Willem j. kolff

Willem created the artificial heart. He released this wonderful invention in 1985. His patent was number 3,641,591, now that is a lot of patents! One more invention Willem invented was the soft shell mushroom for the kidney. Willem was called the 'father of artificial organs'.

Inventor's hall of fame

It wasn't the greatest museum ever, but it was next to the patent office. It had an awesome synthesizer. Did you know a synthesizer is also called a Moog? The museum has a whole wall dedicated to all of the cool inventions and the makers.

Things that stuck out to me

  • Some of the hands-on stuff was fun
  • I had a fun time playing with the Moog
  • A guy named Arthur Fry invented Post-it notes (I saw that on the wall.)

Spy Museum

Spy museum

This museum was my favorite out of all of them. I loved how serious and wacky things got when you played games. You would have to remember your secret identity or your cover would be blown. You got to crawl through an air duct.

other things

Once you passed through all the floors you arrived at the first level. The whole first level is a tribute to James Bond! They have his car and his weapons and much more. WARNING: if you do not want to poop your pants don't tap the tank several times. THEY ARE WATCHING.

things that stuck out to me

  • I got to decode a message
  • It was awesome when you played games
  • I GOT A SELFIE WITH CARDBOARD CUT-OUT OF JAMES BOND!!!

Air and space museum

Air and space

This was a great museum I loved all the fun hands on activities. If you are a germaphobe don't touch anything. The museum has lots of info on space and even more on planes and air.

what i did and didn't like

I liked all of the info and hanging decorations. All of the exhibits are super awesome. What I didn't like was how filthy it was. There was a diaper on a bench... so not cool bro. Way to many people pushing and shoving to see things.

things that stuck out to me

  • Fun activities to play with like simulators
  • Large gift shop full of books for research
  • Awesome exhibits like the model of Curiosity the mars rover

Hirshorn art museum

Hirshorn

I don't like art museums but, this one I loved. Some of the rooms where really intense. Some had really great messages and some just for fun. Also, one room is just huge words, each has a great message.

what i loved

I absolutely loved the room with the big letters. Although I liked a lot of stuff I didn't like the spinning tops. The spinning tops is a movie with spinning tops that crash and push down other tops. In the end they all died, it was intense.

things that stuck out to me

  • Very nice and clean, and lots of neat exhibits
  • Super cool with all the art and messages
  • All of the art had a message, good or bad

Cathedral

Cathedral

This cathedral was breathtaking. Sadly, it was hit by an earthquake and was a little broken. When we went they where having an organ recital the music was amazing. In one of the stained glass windows was an actual moon rock, from the moon!

What i didn't like

Lots of mean people. I mean, we were in a church, a church people! You would think there would be someone nice. It was really loud! If you said 'hi' in a normal voice it would sound like you are shouting.

thank you
for
watching!
