I feel that technology has made a great impact on collaboration as it allows educators to work together without having to be in the same place at the same time. Technology can let anyone work on and share information with each other instantly. With the use of technology you can access the internet or other collaboration methods using a computer, Ipad, or even phones now days from almost anywhere.
E-mails are ways of communicating that provide documents. You don't have to leave the classroom or workplace and go to the post office in order to send an e-mail. E-mails are instant messages that you can reply and send back immediately and not have to wait days for it to arrive in the mail.
Instant Messaging
Instant messaging is similar to text messaging on a cell phone. Instant messages are something that you can send directly to anyone and they can reply back and forth. This is also what most people know as chatting.. One thing you have to remember when instant messaging is to make sure you are careful in your wording and what you are saying because it can easily be mistaken or taken the wrong way which can offend many people or upset them. I find instant messaging a great collaboration method, but if you are communicating with parents i feel that an e-mail is a much better choice.
Cell phones are everywhere we look anymore. Not just adults have cellphones anymore, young children have them as well. I feel that cell phones help with communication because you can call, text, instant message, e-mail all from right in your hands anywhere. This makes communication a lot easier for everyone no matter where they are at. Teachers can use them to communicate with parents, as well as use them in a classroom with their students.

Damaging Effects of Technology
Technology can have many negative affects. Many of the negative affects that you see with the increase in technology is the loss of physical activity and people becoming over weight, children not being children and playing outside because they are glued to the technology, loss of participation and communication face to face, loss of writing and spelling skills because technology automatically corrects them, and there are many more. Technology is also making people lose social skills because they can just type what they feel and never have to actually talk to the other person.
Participation
I feel that with the use of technology is decreasing the interaction that people should have with one another and also the interaction that teachers should have with parents. I feel that they don't try as hard to meet the parents and get to know them or get them involved because they can just communicate online. I feel that teachers are still encouraging participation in student by incorporating technology to participate in activities which is a great idea. I feel that the use of technology in and out of classroom should be optional and not mandatory as well as teachers should not just use technology to teach and communicate.
Technology in physical activity
I think that as teachers and parents we need to encourage physical activity in children. I feel that since technology is becoming bigger and bigger that children are not getting their physical activity and don't understand the outdoors. We need to encourage children to get outside and play and run around and not be glued to technology 24/7.
With the use of technology face to face communication has decreased. I feel that children don't fully understand the importance of face to face communication because they are so connected with technology. As teachers i think that we need to include and incorporate face to face communication as well as written communication not just the use of technology communicating.
When the world is relying on technology to do everything and then it quits working everyone freaks out. There are many problems that can occur with technology including; internet connection, loading issues, no cell phone service, no wireless internet, slow internet, or even a power outage. When this happens society don't know how to act because they have never had to deal with having no technology.
Future TECHNOLOGY
I feel that as technology is becoming more and more important to the world as teachers we are going to have to embrace it. I feel that we are going to have to collaborate with our coworkers using technology, as well as teach with technology. We are going to have to learn how to incorporate it into everything that we do and learn to love it.
