how to decide

• Singapore is terrible!
  • What do you expect from a public university?
  • This is far better than the bond in Taiwan
    • Any company will be accepted
    • No need to repay (not a student loan)
    • Three years of working experience in the top companies
      • "What if they don't want me?"
  • Actually very low (?) cost / performance
• Still, if you have worries, just don't apply in the first place

How to apply

Actually simpler than apply for NTU Taiwan

What you need

• IELTS (\(\ge\) 6.5 overall) or TOEFL
• GSAT (\(\ge\) 56 overall)
  •  If your GSAT is trash and you have SAT, show them SAT 
• Motivations & past achievements
  • they want either a cooperative person or a genius
  • pretend that you are one of the above

The Questions

• Tell us something you have done outside your school curriculum to prepare yourself for your chosen degree programme(s). For example, did you work in a relevant part-time job, or did you take an online course?
• Tell us about a time when you failed to do something on your first try, and succeeded on subsequent attempts. How did you learn from your initial failure, change your approach, so that you eventually succeeded?
• Tell us about something that is meaningful to you, and why.
• What is your proudest achievement? How does it display your commitment and how you have been enterprising? Please also explain how it exemplifies some of the five NUS values of Innovation, Resilience, Excellence, Respect and Integrity.
• Is there anything else about yourself which you want us to know?

• Remember to apply for scholarships
• Remember to ask your English teacher for advices
• Think before you talk
• Don't be influenced by others so easily after you make a decision
• Most importantly, check the application status regularly

Interview

• If everything go smoothly, you should be invited to an interview
  • for the scholarship only
  • admission and tuition grant requires no scholarship
• What you need to prepare
  • Introduction
  • Your strengths and weaknesses, and how you cope with them
  • what makes you stand out?
  • have you considered 台大 other universities

Advantages

Curriculum

• A whole semester for internships
  • No such thing in Taiwan / many US universities
  • internships -> good job
• You can do the rest of the research yourself
