A national delegation mission visited the UTSA headquarters with the purpose of learning first-hand SBDC’s operations.

2015

INNpulsa, the High Impact Entrepreneurship and Innovation Colombia Agency called a public offering No. FMI-SBDC016-2015  for operation  of the  first 4  Small Business Development Centers.

2015

A  SBDC proposal was approved after being submitted jointly by The Santa Marta Chamber of Commerce and PPA stakeholders such as the University of Magdalena, FENALCO and Fundemicromag.

Proposal of Financial Sustainability

PROPOSAL: To contribute to MSMEs growth and consolidation through business creation, business strengthening and economic and social development generation

AREAS: Access to Markets and Skills

DESCRIPTION: The amount of money requested as MIF contributions is a US$400.000 grant for three years period timelapse until 2019.  This accounts for roughly 70% of the total  of proposed amount of the project (US$520.000)

Magdalena Regional Commission of Competitiveness

1. Horticulture at the Zona Bananera.

Development and implementation, on a commercial scale sustainable production model of vegetables to ensure stable and sufficient income to families of 200 single mothers linked to industry oil palm in the Department of Magdalena, with ability to replicate in other regions' Department

 

2. Acuiculture in Tenerife.

Provide fishermen's Association with culturally-sustainable productive model to grow fishes adapted within a framework of climate change mitigation for increasing their income, provide with nutrition of their families and minimize pressure on the ecosystem by overfishing and overfishing.

 

3. Sustainable Livestock in Magdalena.

The project will demonstrates the possible innovations for small and medium scale producers at the Demostration and Trainning Farm (DTF) in Tenerife and Pivijay by educating farmers in the short term to well manage and administer the farm and in the long term by producing ennhanced milk and meat production.

1. Vive Digital Lab Magdalena

Enable the infraestructure and administrative endowments for  Vive Digital Lab Hub in the department of the Magdalena, aiming to foster digitial entrepreneurship skills as well as apps development projects, easing the access for entrepreneurs, businesspeople and public institutions of the Department of Magdalena. Elementary and High or Upper Middle school

Required Budget: US$ 800.000

 

Objectives:

500 Entrepreneurs and businessman trained in digital contents

40 public servers trained in digital contents

Description:  To nurture the appropiate conditions of infrastructure, public spaces and economic environment that encourage the settling and growth of start-ups and high value companies, creating harmonic scenarios for innovation, technological development, and business opportunities  within social and strategic economic sectors of the ecosystem.

Foundation for the Microentrepreneurial Development of Magdalena

OUR PURPOSE 

We are the foundation of Santa Marta Chamber's of Commerce. We provide support and enable Micro-entrepreneurs to start the processes the formalization and business strenghtening by means of trainings, permanent assistance and micro-financing.

 

Our orientation allows us to provide opportunities for financial, economic and productive inclusion that help generates businesses higher rates of growth.
