Sony Music 

Sony music was formed from Colombia in 1887 and is the oldest label in the recording history. After it massed a bigger audience they created a record company with a lot of huge names and became an industry leader. In the UK labels such as Colombia, Epic, RCA and Syco are all part of the Sony Music Group. Sony Music's head office is located in New York City.

Who is signed to them?

Sony Music have many huge names signed up to them such as Beyonce, Foo Fighters, One Direction, Britney Spears, Usher, Justin Timberlake, Calvin Harris, AC/DC, Elvis Presley and Michael Jackson for example. These are only a few names and they sign up new talent often.

Sony own a few different subsidiary companies such as Columbia Pictures, Sony Computer Entertainment, Sony Creative Software, Sony Music Entertainment, Sony Pictures Entertainment, Sony Professional and Sony/ATV Music Publishing. These companies branch out into many different categories such as the film industry, Sony have Columbia who are a part of the big 6 in the American Film Industry. They also build technology, and have other music companies as well as a photographic business.
