Dimension 

  • Every ASCII code has vary length in mm
  • Maximum length is 165 mm which is about 6 inch
  • Maximum character should not exceed than 48
  • Minimum Height 32 mm 
  • It is recommended to have as much height as possible
  • Minimum bar width of .254 mm 

Subset

  • A: ASCII character from 00 to 95(0-9,A-Z,control code) 
  • B: ASCII character from 32 to 127(0-9,A-Z,a-z)
  • C: ASCII character from 00 to 99

EAN 8 

  • 2-3 digit country code 
  • 4-5 data code 
  • Primary objective of code is use minimum space
  • It has 8 digit 4 on left and 4 on right

Limitation 

1. More wastage of paper,difficult for single or small barcode 

2. Adhesive carefully selected 

3. A laser-printed paper label has limited durability

4. Laser printers cannot produce chemical- or water resistant labels and images

1.Direct thermal printing produces sharp print quality with good readability

2.Thermal printers enable batch or single-label printing with virtually no waste.

3.Thermal transfer printers, are typically built more durably than dot matrix

Limitation
