A day with a smart home

The morning

• Wake up
• Get out of the house
• Get to work

Time to wake up

When to wake up?

• Defaults for weekdays and weekend
• Reads calendars for days marked holidays
• On holidays? Are there appointments?
• Appointment has location? Calculate travel time
• Arrives at a latest wake up time, default 07:00

But not exactly at 7

• A wakeup time range, time minus 30 minutes
• Sleep pattern analysis with sensor
• When range starts, query sensor
• Start waking when sensor says ok
• Or if latest time is reached

How to wake up

• Turn on speaker, fade in music playlist
• Turn on daylight lamp after 2 minutes
• Turn on overhead light after another 5
• Switch to annoying sound after another 10
• On weekends, use a softer program

I'm up! I'M UP I SAY!

• Go into corridor, sensor triggers lights and "up"
• Remote button in phone app to mark as "up"
• Otherwise alarm keeps going for 3 hours

Good morning world

• Sensor in corridor triggers wake up for all systems
• Light in bathroom turns on
• Magic bathroom-mirror is already on

Magic Mirror

• Two glass pane over a monitor
• Normal mirror where monitor stays black
• Information where monitor shows data
• Time, weather, news, calendar
• Camera for facial recognition to show personal data
• Turns off screen when lights are off

Ready to leave

• Second magic mirror near the door
• Check for traffic information
• Button press to unlock door
• When door closes, locks automatically
• System sees me as leaving, goes into away mode

At work

• Check on status at home
• Notification if something is delivered in mailbox
• Camera to see if delivery is in front of door
• Send download requests to home server
