Hey everyone! My name is Paige Williams and I am so excited to share with you a little bit of my story and what brought me here. I started using essential oils in 2013 because my daughter had received several diagnoses. She was two years old and not doing well. We needed to support her immune system and I was at my wit’s end. My husband and I were in seminary and we were living on love and beans and rice. True story. For me, the kit wasn’t in our budget, but it had to happen. So from the very beginning, I had to get my product paid for. My monthly oil order wasn’t in our budget and I had to figure out how to make it happen. So I began to share with friends and family and I invited them to join me….and sure enough...I grew a business.
You were invited to this class because you’ve moved beyond dabbling in essential oils or other YL products to full-blow obsession. I hope this class answers all your questions but also gets you crazy excited about the amazing possibility this is for you.
Joining this class doesn’t mean you are commiting to a business, giving us your first born, or signing your life away. I promise. It just means that you are curious about how you may be able to earn a thank you paycheck, a referral bonus, or get your oils paid for. Some of you may be looking to start a side biz and that’s great too. This class is for everyone.
Do you love the product?
Being a product of the product important. What does this mean? It means you actually USE the produces and LOVE them. You’re not just selling stuff. Young Living is an important part of your lifestyle and you are sharing your life with others.
Let me explain. Sometimes when I scroll social media looking for cat videos :), I’ll see someone share a Before and After picture of someone else and it will say something like, “My friend, Dan. He’s lost 38 pounds drinking this amazing pink drink.” And I’m like….YOU DON”T EVEN KNOW DAN. It seems incredibly inauthentic.
People want to hear you and your story. So if you are actually using and loving the product your stories are authentic and sincere.
Plus, using Young Living means you are seeking out health and wellness and making changes to your lifestyle. And that excitement about your wins, the changes you’re making, your successes are contagious. People will want to know more.
Me? I’m obsessed right now with White Angelica. It’s the perfect blend. It’s an amazing perfume. It is freaking amazing for stress and anxiety. I’m also fangirling over our CBD oil. I use it every day to help with inflammation issues. All the fangirling over here.
What are you obsessing over right now?
p.s. do you see how easy it is to talk about something you love. that is doing the business.
Sharing is Caring
Anytime I get an invitation to a “party,” I basically panic. I feel pressure to buy a spatula or a tube of mascara. And I have enough. I hate it when I get messages that are SO obviously COPY AND PASTE. Direct sales companies are not my jam..or so I thought. But here’s the thing...when I started with Young Living, I realized I could be DIFFERENT. I could set the tone and intention for my business. I didn’t have to be like other examples that I had seen.
I have a pair of wireless headphones that I am OBSESSED with. Ask me about them and I will tell you about them. Heck, don’t ask me about them, and I will tell you. I don’t make a dime from Amazon when I share about these headphones. I genuinely like them and share about them. And I sell more headphones than you can possibly imagine.
I want you to apply that same principle to Young Living. You’re excited that Idaho Balsam Fir and Valor helped your husband finally stop snoring. You are freaking out that Digize was the rescuer for seasonal allergies (yeah I said Digize). So that is all you’re going to do: share what you’re using and why you love it. NOW, here’s the next part...You invite people to join you. You don’t have to be weird or dance around the subject. Invite people to try Lavender. Invite people to grab the Thieves Starter Kit. Use your products daily and share with others what you’re doing. You are literally a walking billboard for the product.
This doesn’t have to be weird. You are not cold calling people. You are not putting people on blast. You’re not hanging out people’s windows. You are going to be sharing what you are using and why you love it. (If you do hang outside people’s windows, we need to talk. ‘Cause that’s creeper material.)
Direct Sales is not a pyramid scheme.
I’m typically not a huge fan of Multi-Level Marketing/Direct Sales companies. I hate sales pitches. I always feel obligated to buy something, even if I don’t really need it. I’m not a “party” type of gal. And this is absolutely NOTHING against anyone who does other MLMs. It’s just not me. So no one was more surprised than me when I decided to do Young Living as a business!
So what was it that made me want to do this? What makes our team so different from others?
We are not your typical MLM team. And aren’t we all thankful for that?! One thing that we do so differently is that we don’t chase sales.
We use our oils. We love our oils. We share our oils. And we share our stories. We call it the “un-sales” method. We make helping people and building relationships our top priority and our businesses naturally grow out of this.
The other thing that makes us different is the way we work together as a team. We aren’t in competition with each other. We collaborate. We share ideas and resources. We cheer each other on and celebrate each other’s victories. We succeed when we help others. Being part of a group of women and men who support each other like this is pretty incredible (not to mention RARE!).
Some of you may be wondering...but don’t just the people at “the top” make money.
Negative, ghost rider. Take a good look at our compensation plan. Also, please tell me you just caught my Top Gun reference.
You will quickly see that there is room for everyone at the top. In fact, you financially do better when your team is successful. I’m serious here, folks. This is not a get rich scheme here. And this is most certainly not a only the top folks win. This is an all play. Everyone can do well.
What is the Motivation
People don't buy what you do, they buy why you do it"
-Simon Sinek
People can buy essential oils from anyone, but they buy it from you because you have a WHY.
As an entrepreneur, it is so so important to know your WHY.
So...what does that really mean? How do you find your WHY?
We all will have two kinds of whys. One will be for the product, and one for the business.
My product why was easy. My daughter was sick. And when the cardiologist told us to enjoy Christmas with her, I was willing to do anything. I was willing to try anything.
My why for the business wasn't as clear to me right away. I began this business a year right after I had my second daughter and came home from my non-profit job.
When I started this business, I had jumped in with both feet and was learning as I went along. I'd spent years stressing out about being tied to my job, feeling like I was in the rat race and never getting ahead, wanting to be home with my kids but knowing I HAD to work or ends would not meet. I felt like I was tied up and pulled in 5 different directions.
I wanted freedom. Freedom from someone else being my boss. Freedom from debt. Freedom to be with my kids. Freedom to explore the world. Freedom to give generously. Freedom to help others. Freedom to spend my time with who I wanted to spend my time with.
Your WHY is probably different than mine and that's what makes you YOU. But, I encourage you... to sit down and really think DEEP into your WHY.
If it's financial freedom, what about obtaining that will connect EMOTIONALLY to you? If it's helping people, what part of you, at your very core, needs to help people? What need is this fulfilling for you?
Maybe you want to get your oil costs covered.
Maybe you want to pay the electric bill.
Maybe you have an aging parent that needs assistance.
Maybe your spouse’s job is the worst and you want to give them the freedom to go out on there own.
Maybe you have a kid in college and that ain’t cheap.
Maybe you freaking want to buy organic meat the grocery store and not think twice.
Because once you figure it out and you connect your hustle to it and you believe in yourself... watch out... you'll be unstoppable. Find your WHY. And then dig a bit deeper. Your why is bigger than you think... it's bigger than you, bigger than me, bigger than money; it has to be intrinsic.
Think of the emotion behind why you want the payoff. What would a new house do for you? What does it provide? What need does it meet? What would giving to others, or traveling, or paying off debt mean for you?
The Perks of the job!
There are so many amazing perks of this job!
1. A Paycheck! Whether you are getting your product paid for, have breathing room in your monthly budget, or have replacement income, either way...getting a paycheck is not a bad thing. AmmmmmIIIIIRigggghhhtttt???
2. Get Your Product Paid for...This is similar to #1. But heck, you’re using your Young Living regularly...you might as well get the costs covered.
3. Community! I came for the oils, but man...I LOVE the people that I get to do this with. We take trips together, we talk all the time, and they have become my people.
Seriously. These people show up! They become your people. And you couldn't ask for a better community.
4. Young Living trips and gifts! If you do this business, you have the opportunity to earn free trips. I’ve been to Hawaii, Spain, Canada, Ecuador and all over the United States. Next year, they are sending us to Greece and Italy. The perks are amazing. And you get to go with people who work with and love. Plus, there will be contests along the way and you can earn additional trips.
Let's stop right here. Did you read that?!??! TRIPS!
5. The opportunity to bless your family and friends! Invite people you know and love to join you in this. Grow a business with people you love and they get all of these perks too.
6. Free oils! When you enroll in Essential Rewards and you’re doing the minimum 100 PV for the business, you’re earning ER points to get free products, and if you do the higher PV levels for the promos, you can earn even more free products.Plus throughout your journey, you have opportunity after opportunity to earn free products.
For me, I love travel. Give me my passport and a plane ticket, and I am ready to go! Plus, my income from Young LIving allowed my husband to pursue his dream of owning and operating a farm. And the smile on his face when he’s on his tractor is worth every dang second.
Fighting the Insecurities
SO WARNING...this gets a little heavy. Just sayin’. It does.
When I started Young LIving, I realized I had a lot of insecurities. What if my friends think I’m weird? What if no one buys from me? I don’t know a lot about essential oils---how the heck am I going to teach about them? Everyone already uses oils...how would this even work for me?
You name the thought I had it. Plus, my husband and I were broke, in seminary, and we didn’t have money to just flush down the toilet. This had to work for me. But to be honest, I totally doubted myself. I’ve struggled with my weight my whole life. When I was in college, I lost 80 lbs and I’ve kept it off. But for a long time, I always looked in the mirror and saw the fat girl. It’s true. I had to work through a lot of deep, hard things to freaking be grateful for the girl in the stupid mirror. I just had deep, deep insecurities. And I just lacked the faith that I can freaking do the work and then enjoy it. And so...when it came to Young Living, I had to work through a whole new set of insecurities.
I had to work through each of my own issues...and 6 years later, I still have new insecurities and have to work through.
I read this from another Diamond, Kari Friedman and it hit me so hard. Why?? Because our mindsets are HUGE. They set the trajectory for what you do and how you move forward...or don't move forward. (keep reading -->)

Divorce your Story. Marry the truth.
We all have our stories that we tell ourselves for why we can't do (you fill in the blank.) Some of us have spent years believing this story and telling ourselves it s over and over again and it has become like another appendage on our body.
Here are some stories I have heard before:
⚫️ Because I've always been introverted I'm going to have a harder time growing this business and I will inevitably grow it slower that other more outgoing .
⚫️ Because you grew up with no money, there is no way you could earn massive money and your hot market is all Of the same mindset so yeah - no one really to build this business with.
⚫️ Because your mom and her mom and so on struggled to maintain a healthy weight you will be cursed for life with the same genetically given body type and no matter how hard you work you won't be satisfied with your appearance.
⚫️Because you spent years going to school to be a (fill in the blank), you're going to have to stay the course - doesn't matter if the pay is not what you're truly worth / or the hours are time consuming / true time freedom isn't truly for someone like me.
⚫️Because everyone you know uses standard employer pay health insurance that's the way to receive health care, the idea of being your own boss and having to figure that one out on your own is for the birds - I mean - that's the stuff for millionaires.
⚫️ Because you're a single mom, the road will always be harder. You will always have more responsibility and your road will always be uphill.
⚫️ Because your marriage isn't at a good place, there is no way you can move forward with other areas of your life. And if you can't keep a marriage together, how are you going to keep a business together ?
(keep reading -->)
❤️ See we have so many stories. But they are not US. They're not our hearts. They're not our dreams. Those stories just sit around, festering more limiting beliefs, holding us back from our highest potential.
So it's time we DIVORCE them! Divorce the stories you keep telling yourself that are limiting you. It's time to MARRY your truth!! What are your truths? Write them down! Repeat them!!
My guess... the TRUTH is that you are stronger than others would believe because some do know your stories , the TRUTH is that you have a big heart for sharing these oils and they've changed your life and although fear isn't nice, it stands no chance when faced against your passion for these oils. The TRUTH is that you can run the marathon of this business - the sweat and the tears - the achy knees - it's just the physical - your heart is so darn courageous, and can win over the limits that your body tries to impose on you.
The TRUTH is that you know how to separate yourself from your excuses - now will you BELIEVE in your TRUTHS more than your stories enough to truly do it ?
-----
So I know this was super touchy, feely, but I think it’s true. Your mindset matters. And doing this is a great opportunity to fight those insecurities.
What level of commitment do I have to give?
It is so important that you decide what level of commitment and investment that YOU and YOUR family decide on. My level of investment and commitment means that I work this like a full time gig. You may say...I’d love to do this 5-10 hours a week and get my product paid for. That’s awesome! The thing to remember is that you are deciding what this looks like for you.
But let me say this, what you put in directly relates to what you get out. So if you would like for this to be replacement income for your family, then you would have to invest more time and energy.
Let me walk you through some of your options for working this as a business….
Choice 1:
Get your Young Living paid for. This means you aim to sell/earn whatever you spend. When I got started with Young Living, I had to get my Thieves paid for! So I was spending about 100-200 pv a month on product, so I wanted to enroll/sell enough to cover that cost. I learned that I earn commissions when I enroll a new member (sell a kit, sign someone up, etc.), when people reorder, or when someone does the business and builds a team as well. So I made it my goal (initially) to generate enough income so we could have all the Thieves, Lavender, Valor, Peppermint, Sacred Mountain, Bergamot, Tangerine....oh lord...the shopping list grew every month.
Choice 2:
Bring home supplemental income. THIS ALLOWS budget wiggle room!!! After I got my product paid for, I upped my goal :) and wanted to start paying for our electric bill...then rent....and...and....it grew. Maybe there are extra bills (education, aging parent, debt) or you are looking for ways to generate income for giving (support adoptions, give to non profits, bless those around you, support missions, etc.) and Young Living would allow you to do that.
Choice 3:
Generate replacement income. Some of you may want to legitly grow a business. This is where we are now. My Young Living income is our primary income! This option requires more time, more energy, and more hustle. My monthly commissions provide for our family, our long term financial planning, and support our desires for generous giving.
So here's the beauty of Young Living, it's whatever you pick/decide. There's no pressure. You pick. No one on this team will EVER give you a sales quota, ask you to stock inventory, or pressure you to do X,Y, Z.
How do you get your feet wet?
First things first! Use your products! Share about an oil you love and why. Tell people on social media without talking about selling oils. Just share what you love!
Let your enroller (the person who told you about Young Living) that you want to start your own business. Let them know that you are interested in getting your product paid for, wiggle room in your monthly spending, etc. Whatever your intention is with this business, let them know.
Next, enroll in Essential Rewards and make a minimum order of 100 pv. This qualifies you to get all the bonuses and commissions from when people enroll underneath you.
Then we want to get you added to our business group on Facebook! We want to make sure we get you started and off to a great start. Your enroller can meet with you and set you up for success over your next few months.
Remember, this is all about your personal pace. You can take this is a slow as you like or as fast as you like. You will have support from your team no matter your personal goals or investment. They will work and support you whatever your personal pace is.
How to get paid
Money wasn’t the main reason I decided to do the business, but it was certainly a perk that I considered! My one goal when I started the business with Young Living was to repay myself for the cost of my starter kit. Once I did that, my goal became to make enough money to cover the cost of my oils every month. I think this is a completely reasonable expectation for anyone who decides to do the business. But I also know that people who work hard, share their stories, and refuse to fail make A LOT more money than what they need to pay for their oils after a little while.
You make money through Young Living in two ways: bonuses and commission. When your friends and family purchase a premium starter kit, you get a bonus. A $50 bonus, to be exact.
There are several PSKs available to sell and they all come with the same rewards.
PSK with diffuser & 12 oils (ranges between $160 - $260) = 100pv
Thieves PSK ($160) = 100pv
Ningxia PSK ($170) = 100pv
Savvy Minerals PSK ($160) = 100 pv
Each time you sell ANY of these PSKs you will earn 2 bonuses.
A $25 KIT bonus - BOOM. You sell a kit you automatically earn $25. Sell 4 kits thats $25 x 4 so you’ve earned $100. Easy Money.
You earn FAST START on this member which equals 25% of their PV. Each PSK is worth 100pv so 25% of 100 is another $25.
So a 100pv PSK earns you a TOTAL of $50 (minimum) = $25 kit bonus + 25% fast start ($25 on 100pv).
So bottom line. Each time you sell a PSK - you earn $50, at a minimum. Guys…. That $50 adds up quick. Sell 5 kits - BOOM…. $250.
>>> You will continue to earn additional income as people reorder, do the business, etc. The income possibility is insane.
Check out our income disclosure here for more information: https://static.youngliving.com/en-US/PDFS/IDSOnlineVersion_PDF_US.pdf
>>> Now remember, to be eligible to earn bonuses, commissions, etc. you must place a monthly order of 100 PV minimum.
What rank for you would be FREAKING amazing? What paycheck would be a gamechanger for your family?
Recap
So let’s recap! One, you can do this. Two, you’re enough. Three, it does take work, effort, and investment. Four, it can go at whatever pace you want. Five, let your enroller know what your thoughts are.
I want to be clear on what we are offering:
--training and resources catered to your pace and investment level
-community and support
-marketing materials and education
-onboarding and continuing education
-personal and leadership development opportunities
What’s expected from you:
-communicate with your enroller what your personal goal is and desired pace
-willingness to share your experiences with others
-personal use of the product (duh...you already are doing this!)

The important thing to remember is that this is not scary. This business can happen so naturally and it can happen at whatever pace you decide. There are so many benefits and opportunities if you decide to pursue it. You would be joining a team that is AWESOME and wants to come alongside you.
Thank you!
