Known for its lemony, fresh scent, Citronella is a summertime favorite that will take you straight back to grass stained knees and catching fireflies!! It is a natural addition to many porch candles, insect repellants, and sunscreens. Here a some amazing ways to add this life-saver to your everyday!
This oil is steam distilled from the leafy parts of the citronella plant, also known as Cymbopogon nardus. It has a grassy + herbaceous + fresh scent that is perfect to diffuse inside the home during the spring time! One of the key constituents in Citronella is “geraniol”, which acts as a protective shield against bacteria!! But wait there’s more, Citronella is a very common ingredient in bug spray!! So if you are going to be hanging this spring and summer outdoors, get you some Citronella girl!!
To bring the outdoors into our cozy space add this oil to your diffuser and breath in the fresh, crisps scents of the wild.
+ Mix up a DIY outdoor spray or Citronella floating candle (https://bit.ly/2Jtb8B8) to freshen up your outdoor spaces for those backyard summer gatherings

Talk about going down memory lane!! Have you ever been to Lake Tahoe? Well if you haven’t, grab a bottle of Cypress and sniff away, just let your imagination run wild. Need another reason to get this oil?! Well my friend, Cypress contains Alpha-Pinene which has the ability to work as an anti-inflammatory!
Steam distilled from the branches, bark, and wood, this plant’s origin resides in Europe! There are many species of Cypress, but this beloved oil is specifically Cupressus sempervirens! This tree has has lots of significance throughout history, especially with Mediterranean and Eastern cultures and mythology. The Phoenicians and Cretans used cypress for building ships and bows, while the Egyptians made sarcophagi from the wood. The Greeks would use cypress to carve statues of their gods, where the word “sempervirens” means “live forever,” as the tree shares the name with the island Cypress, where it was used for worship in ancient times. Cypress is noted for its durability, as it was what the doors at St. Peter’s Basilica at the Vatican were made of that legends say lasted over 1,000 years!
How to Use Cypress
+ Apply topically to promote healthy circulation and a healthy respiratory system.
+ Apply to specific vita flex points for specific and targeted support.

When we first think of Clove, many of us think about the holidays and Christmas time, which in all honesty… YES PLEASE! To produce this beloved oil, the flower bud and plant stem are steam distilled. The strong and rich oil that results from this contains eugenol, which has been known to have been used in the Dental Industry for a long time to numb gums. The eugenol makes Clove Essential Oil a really powerful and potent oil (even considered a hot oil, so dilution is strongly suggested!). This one is a main ingredient of our beloved THIEVES Essential Oil. The history of Clove is really exciting, as it’s known to have been used throughout time for its medicinal uses and its frequent appearances in apothecaries!
+ Apply topically for soothing different types of discomfort or irritation. Please use as directed, dilution strongly suggested with the ratio of 1 part Clove Essential Oil to 4 parts carrier oil.
+ Apply topically for stimulating and invigorating scent that leaves you feeling warm and fuzzy. Inside and out!
+ Diffuse by itself or with something else to encourage sleep and create a sense of protection and courage.
This is literally found in SO many Young Living Products, but here’s just a few of our favorites!

This oil is known as 'poor man's Frankincense' because it has some of the same properties and uses as Frankincense (like it's fab for skin), but it's a fraction of the cost!
This is a bit longer, but SO worth reading to get a peek into the heart of Young Living, from Young Living’s Chief Supply Officer, Lauren Walker!
“Do you love our Elemi Oil? Isn’t it wonderful to know where it’s coming from and how it’s benefiting this community in the Philippines?
I was so proud to share the YL convention stage with Dr. Michael Buch and Matt French as we shared the sustainable future of the Pili tree, Elemi essential oil, the rich stories of beautiful people of the Bicol region of the Philippines and announce our newest Young Living partner, Happy Pili Tree Farm.
Elemi comes from the resin released from the bark of the Pili tree. It has a fresh and spicy aroma combined with citrus and woody undertones. Elemi has similar skin conditioning properties as frankincense and myrrh and help support wellness and relaxation.
"Deforestation of the Pili tree was rampant over the past few decades and the tree was on the verge of being endangered. Also, the people of the Bicol region did not profit from the Elemi oil of their native tree. The resin was shipped to foreign countries and distilled, leaving no economic future for these local people in the Elemi market. A local woman by the name of Rosalina sought to change the Pili industry in Bicol.
Young living partnered with Rosalina to educate the people about sustainable harvesting to ensure the betterment of their livelihoods. Young living eagerly offered the Happy Pili Tree farm a grant to build the first commercial scale distillery and help forge a bright economic future for the local Bicolano’s. Distilling the oil on site allows the Happy Pili Tree farm to practice Young Living’s Seed to Seal principles at every level.
Please share this Elemi Seed to Seal story and take pride that with every purchase of YL’s Elemi Essential Oil, you are supporting the livelihood of the people of the Bicol region and protecting the Pili tree from endangerment for years to come!”
Uses //
Supports smooth, young appearance of skin. Elemi has been called 'poor man's Frankincense'!!
Have you even heard of it?!?!?!
“I bought this oil ages ago because I've slowly been trying to grow my oil collection. I love adding a new oil each month in my essential rewards order. But even though I've had it for awhile, I've only recently started using this oil and have fallen in love with it! It has been an amazing support to me in so many ways!
Tsuga essential oil is extracted by using steam distillation process from needles and twigs of the conifer trees. In fact, the bark from the same trees was once used to make poultices.
Tsuga has skin-cleansing properties and is spiritually uplifting. It is great as a respiratory support, as well as a wonderful oil to use for its skin-cleansing benefits. Experiencing any nervous tension? Try reaching for this oil!! Give it a try!
The ORAC score of Tsuga is pretty impressive. I like to mention the ORAC score because antioxidants are pretty well known these days for suppressing free radicals. An ORAC score lets us know the power behind a food or oil. For example berries are recognized as having high ORAC scores, and therefore are considered great antioxidants. The ORAC score of tsuga is 7,100, compared to 2,400 for blueberries and 1,078,700 for clove oil!
Tsuga has been associated with balance, uplifting and grounding. You may want to diffuse this oil if you're looking for these types of aromatic benefits. You may also find it useful for meditation, yoga, and for overall feelings of groundedness.
This may be one of the more obscure oils because we don't talk about it much, but I have to say it is pretty lovely!!
For all you lovers of Northern Lights Black Spruce and Idaho Blue Spruce (and all the pine oils!) you are going to looooooove this one!
RC - our favorite respiratory friend.

Ways that I use this amaze oil:
+ Put a splotch of coconut oil in your hands, put 1-2 drops of RC, 1 drop Lemon and 1 drop Thieves all in the splotch. Rub on your chest!
+ Diffuse RC, Lemon + Thieves when you feel the yuck coming on.
+Make a 10ml Roller: 10 drops RC, 10 drops Peace and Calming, 10 drops lemon and 10 drops Frank. - thank you frog in the throat support!
An article on the dangers of using Vick's with children:
http://www.nbcnews.com/id/28628924/#.US4-A1quuzc
I find it interesting that this mainstream article is a few years old now and is only one of the many warnings we've received, and yet we are still not getting the message that we need to find better alternatives for our kids.
When we begin finding better ways to help our bodies truly fight illness, we begin to pull out of the cycle of the never-ending sickness that occurs when we only mask symptoms.
Symptoms are our bodies telling us they need help. We need to listen
Eucalyptus Radiata essential oil comes from an evergreen tree native to Australia that is part of the Myrtaceae plant family. Steam distilled from the leaves, Eucalyptus Radiata essential oil is loved for its fresh, sharply clean aroma. This specific species has been treasured for a long while in folk medicine. This specific species of Eucalyptus has the second highest abundance of 1,8 cineole (or Eucalyptol) after Eucalyptus Globulus. What does that mean? It means it’s GOOD for you!
It is typically the preferred eucalyptus oil for its sweeter smell compared to the other eucalyptus oils that Young Living offers. It is not only great for the respiratory system, but its specific aroma is great diffused for an invigorating and stimulating environment that promotes wellness and focus. Based on the other Young Living products that include Eucalyptus Radiata, you can also get an idea of what exactly this one can be used for as well!
Eucalyptus Radiata Uses:
+ Diffuse for helping with focus and creating a stimulating environment.
+ Diffuse to help with the seasonal sniffles and possible head tension. Great for respiratory system support.
+ Apply directly on your chest or vita flex points to aid with seasonal stuffiness. It can help break up the yuckies and keep them at bay.
+ Add to your bath or favorite shower melt recipe for a steamy rejuvenation of your senses and respiratory system.
+ Add to Ortho Ease Massage Oil for an extra kick and support for your muscles after a workout!
+ Add to your Room Freshener to help combat stale odors!
