LOW BUDGET IDEAS

PERFORMANCE
Dancing is seen in both of the low budget music vidoes, 'A-ha!' and 'Just Got Paid'. Dancing is a very easy way of keeping the audience engaged in the video whilst being completely free. It also very conventional of the pop music genre so would be a very effective way of making a low budget video entertaining, whilst also giving it a proffessional look if executed well and based off of the beat.

In the low budget music video A-ha! the opacity of different layers of footage have been lowered and stacked on top of eachother, which allows the audience to see both videos at the same time. This editing technique is very simple and does not cost any money however gives it a very professional look and helps in this music video as it adds to the edgey tone that they are trying to achieve.

FILTERS
Filters are used very effectively in the 'A-ha!' music video. The filter used makes the footage appear in black and white except specific colours, mainly red. This makes the colours very bold and stand out, whilst also helping to create meaning to the video and add to the edgey tone. The use of a filter also allows them to keep their costume and setting very basic as no colours will be seen, allowing them to save money on things such as background. This is evident through the fact that the singer is wearing a simple black t-shirt, which is still very effective for her video.

LIGHTING
As seen at the start of the 'Just Got Paid' music video lighting can be used to your advantage to help create the illusion of a studio for the audience. The lighting facing away from a dark background hides everything behind the lights. This gives the room a proffessional look while not costing any money, helping to create a low budget music video. The lights are also used to effect in the music video to create a stage like area for the artists despite only having a room to peform in.
