GET TO KNOW ONE ANOTHER

YOUR DEVMOUNTAIN EXPERIENCE

Conventional Passive vs. Active Education

OWN YOUR Learning

  • Self-learning is how the industry works
  • You'll have hands-on projects, videos, and reading
  • What you put in is what you get out
  • Focus and effort are on you
  • Time + Focused Effort = Success
  • The sky is the limit, so push yourself

Your DevMountain Experience

  • You can expect to truly struggle
  • You can expect to feel behind
  • You can expect to feel overwhelmed
  • You can expect this to be incredibly challenging
  • You can expect to spend time working outside of class hours and on weekends, especially during all 3 of the projects

A Bootcamp Experience

Dealing with ADVERSITY

  • Don't give up
  • Don't blame others
  • Don't beat yourself up

Students who work the hardest and stay positive can often surpass their more experienced peers.

  • Do work hard
  • Do stay positive
  • Do help one another

Tips for Learning

  • Try not to take struggling personally, don't "should" on yourself
  • Try not to compare yourself to others
  • Take notes, or don't: do whatever helps keep you engaged
  • Stay organized! Have a system, whatever works for you
  • Jot down questions, and bring them up in review
  • Focus on just our curriculum
  • Come in on weekends, and work together
  • Put in more effort than you think you need
  • Come in early
  • Rewatch the videos
  • Redo the projects
  • Complete every bit of suggested content
  • Get exercise
  • Get sleep
  • Take breaks
