Birth and death are the two most important events (called Vital Events) in the life of an individual.
A person has legal existence between the recorded timings of birth and death. As per law, both of these events are to be registered with the appropriate authorities in respective states of the country.
As doctors when we take care of patients, most will survive but a few will die because of the illness. This probability of death varies depending on the type of illness, type of hospital, type of specialty, kind of health care provided and so on.

Ebola fever, Encephalitis and Rabies have high case-fatality. Nephritis and Leprosy have low case-fatality.
Diseases differ from one another in terms of what proportion of those with a particular disease (=cases) go on to die because of that particular illness (=fatalities).This is known as Case-Fatality Rate (CFR) - some diseases have low case-fatality rates while others have high case-fatality rates.
