Points

  • 7 points due December 9th
  • All unfinished points will be added to next semester's requirement but doubled (and you will receive a demerit)
  • For every 2 points extra you have, you can transfer 1 point to next semester. (Cap of 2 points)
  • Seniors:
    • If you are applying for the scholarship, you must complete all points AND have 0 demerits over the past 2 years
    • If not, you still need to complete points in order to receive a cord and receive 2 or fewer demerits this year

Opportunities

  • A-hall Tutoring
  • After-meeting activity!
  • 3-4 Page Study guides over a pre-approved math topic (email us beforehand with your idea!)
  • Puzzle Contest

Senior Scholarships

  • More information and application will be sent out next semester
  • Scholarships of up to 500 dollars
  • Must have completed all your points and have no demerits for the past two years
  • Application will be due in the spring, and we will hold interviews with eligible candidates

Upcoming Competitions

University of Houston Math Contest

  • Will be held online on zoom on January 28, 2023

  • You can take as many tests as you want as long as the times don't conflict. The Algebra 1 to Calculus tests won't conflict with the other tests. 

  • You can only take the regular subject test for the class that you are currently taking at school. (If you are in a math class above calculus, take calculus)

  • More information on the schedule for the contest will be sent out soon

RCML Round 1

  • Date: Jan. 11-20
  • Points: 1
  • 30 minute test 
  • 10 questions 
  • 5 divisions: the division you choose has to be your current math class or a higher-level course
    • Pre-Algebra (Explorer)
    • Algebra (Mercury)
    • Geometry (Gemini)
    • Algebra II (Apollo)
    • Precalculus or above (Discovery)
  • There are three math tests for UIL and TMSCA
  • Number Sense: 80 questions, 10 minutes, all mental math
  • Calculator: 70 questions, 30 minutes
  • General Math: 60 questions, 40 minutes
  • Teams will be decided next semester.
  • UIL Invitational A is on January 14, and Invitational B is on February 11. 

 

We will hold a virtual UIL Information session next semester!

UIL and TMSCA

Points: 1 point for taking each test

 

  • December 10th from 1 to 5 PM EST
  • Open to any girl or non-binary high school student.
  • Over 2000 dollars in prizes.

Integirls Winter Contest

Points: 1 point

 

  • Solutions due January 3, 2023
  • Sign up and submit on the USAMTS website
  • Consists of five free response, proof based questions
  • Can be used to qualify for AIME

USAMTS Round 3

Points: 1 point
