Hours/Points

*You can always check how many points you have on our website

1 hour = 1 point

• Extra hours do not carry over into next semester
• Extra hours can be transferred for YES hours
• If you do not complete all your hours, next semester you will have to complete the required 7 PLUS double the numbers of hours you failed to complete

We will do our best to update points in a timely manner :)

Friday Math Practices

• Will generally cover competition topics at least until AMC 10/12
• Times tend to vary between weeks, so be sure to check Remind for updates
• In the future, we may introduce a system to check if you were listening, so be sure to pay attention at all times to receive full credit
• Bring questions of your own to ask!
• Points: 1-1.5 points per practice
• Feel free to send us an email if you have any suggestions on what we should do next!
• Our next FMP will be on 11/19, and it will be taught by a special guest... :))

USAMTS Round 2

• Due: 11/29
• Five problems that must be given justification and reasoning
• The problem difficulty ranges from being within the reach of most high school students to challenging some of the best students in the nation
• Students may use any materials but all the work must be their OWN

AMC 10/12 A/B

• Date: 11/10 & 11/16
• 75 minute, 25 MC tests
• Each test will be worth 1.5 points
• Students who do well can qualify for the next test: AIME!

Berkeley Math Tournament

• Dates: 11/20 &11/21
• Tournament consisting of three round: Power, GUTS, and  either Focus or General
• Sign up deadline is TONIGHT MIDNIGHT
• Up to 3 points can be obtained through this contest (1.5 for each day)

INTEGIRLS 2021 Winter Math Contest

• Dates: 11/27
• Cash prizes
• Teams of up to 4
• Virtual and free of cost
• No prior contest math experience necessary
• 1.5 points

Math and Science Night

Math and Science Night

• Date: 11/19
• 3.5 points for volunteering at the event or making a booth
• 1 point can be earned by making a poster
• 0.5 points can be earned from reaching out to 10 people by sending them the flyer + Google form (we will send these out in the recap email) - this is capped at 1 point 
• Up to 4.5 points can be earned

Poster Making

• We will be creating decorative posters that can be put on the walls on the night of the event
• The theme is: Crazy Math/Science Phenomenon or Guinness World Records
