It is a viral sexually transmitted infection that will lead to pain all around the body.

A common, lifelong viral infection primarily causing genital herpes, characterized by recurring, painful sores or blisters in the genital or anal area

U.S statistic

About 0.8% - 1.4% of U.S. teenagers aged 14–19 are infected with HSV-2, while teenagers aged 20-29 have a 7.6% chance of contracting HSV-2.

How is this STI transmitted?

It can be transmitted through various forms of sexual activity including vaginal, anal, or oral sex, and it can also spread through direct skin-to-skin contact. Furthermore, it can be passed from mother to child during childbirth, although this is considered a rare occurrence.

 

Treatment/cure

 

There is a treatment option available for Genital Herpes HSV-2, which can be managed using medications such as acyclovir, valacyclovir, and famciclovir. However, it is important to note that there is currently no definitive cure for genital herpes HSV-2.

 

Prevention

To prevent from happening is to use a condom and avoid having vaginal, anal or oral sex when your partner has herpes symptoms.
