Star Image

Richard dyer's theory

Richard Dyer’s Star theory applied to pop stars “A star is an image not a real person that is constructed (as any other aspects of fiction is) out of a range of materials”

Meaning, a star's image is created via the process of construction by the means of advertisements, social media and event.

Alive is the second studio album by English singer-songwriter Jessie J. Musically, Alive is a pop and R&B album that features influences from dance-pop, pop rock, soul and hip hop in its production. her background for this album was that "For the seven years before I signed my record deal, I was in a bad place, and I was scared that I couldn't get out of it. That’s why I wrote such upbeat music, as a way of trying to escape how I felt. Now that I am happier, I won’t be afraid to explore my pain. But in a good way; it’ll be me saying that it’s OK not to feel OK.

She's no stranger to a bold look or too, but Jessie J's style has definitely been through a transformation or two Back when she first arrived with her first album It was all about the leggings, the leather... and the BOB!

Then there was the infamous charity head shave in album 2... which Jessie pulled off like a pro. She even made the new short hairstyle part of her look for almost a year

I don't feel that I've ever learned so much about myself at any other time in my life.

The character and personality of Jessie has changed since her first appearance. She started out as a emo bold pop star who had passion in music, specifically singing. Her song 'do it like a dude' is about girls who needs to man up, it has shown typical punk characteristic and attitude and have attracted a large amount of audiences, with time her image and character changed from emo to mature pop star However, the behavior and personality of jessie has been shown little negatively too.

Comment

Overall Jessie's personality and character as an image changed in every album she came out with, the first and the lastest album are equally opposites as in the first one she had a more emo look with jet black hair red bold lip dark eye shades moreover her color palatte was more darker tones in between with her second album , she had completely shaved her head she went for white and bright tones furthermore in her latest album she changed her way she felt about her music she went through harsh times and she took all of it as inspiration and strength to overcome her pain.
