Stacks make up WEB & Mobile Dev

Just like a juicy burger, the tasty web is made of layers of beautiful tech.
Let's look at some recipes for making WEB & Mobile app
LAMP
- Linux
- Apache
- MySQL
- PHP
MEAN
- MongoDB
- Express.js
- Angular
- Node
PENGRR
- React
- Redux
- GraphQL
- Postgress
- Node
- Express
Let's Make a Mobile Stack
P.S. stacks help us choose technologies that our app will be built with
Mobile FIT Stack
- Firebase
- Ionic 2
- TypScript
See, we built our own stack and it even came with a nifty name.
It isn't very easy to come up with names for every stack, so let's just put some tech together
ReanF
- RethinkDB
- Express
- Angular
- Node
- Feathers
See how we replaced mongo with rethink and added feathers... the name doesn't work... very well. But it is a great stack
Let's go further
Meteor
- MongoDB
- Mini-Mongo
- Express
- DDP
- Blaze
- SockJS
Meteor is a complete full-stack framework that uses other libraries to make a complete solution
A stack (can) include(s)
- operating system
- server
- database
- backend framework
- frontend framework
- languages
- anything that affects your project
We will be using different stacks with similar tech
Such as
- Angular
- Node
- Express
- Feathers
- Ionic
- Firebase
- MongoDB
- RethinkDB
- TypeScript
We will be using a lot of the same tech but in different configuration sets
We will be going over modified MEAN
stacks the next few days
Study Time
The next 2 hours of class you will study the tech in our stacks
When studying, you should get an understanding of the tech, and what purpose it serves in our stack
Study Steps
- Go to tech site
- Read intro and features sections
- Follow the getting started section
- Install tech on computer
- Ask for help if you get stuck (slack)
- Go to docs and briefly read what the APIs do
- Take notes
- Go over above steps if you still don't understand what the tech does
You don't have to become an EXPERT during this practice!
Tech to study
- MongoDB
- Express
- Angular 2
- Node
- Feathers
- Meteor
- Ionic 2
- firebase
Once you have studied some tech, get on slack and report some of the cool things you found
See you in class
