Maps in applications and visualisations have become more prevelant

But sometimes we miss a few tricks...

Problem: too many points

Solution: change how you render

Clustering 

Heatmaps

Spiderify

But always ask; is it necessary to render this data?

Problem: Drive and Walk Times 

Solution: Use route networks!

Problem: Wanting to show meaningful data

Solution: Normalisation

Problem: the Earth is round

For most applications this is not mission critical 

or use 3D Maps!
