RemNote Math Map: JayTeach.me Site Plan

Uploading the whole math syllabus, systematically inter-linked, with inbuilt spaced-repetition, for free

  • I want to use RemNote for building my teaching site.
  •
  • Part 1: How to embed RemNote Queues into static Jekyll site or in iFrames?
  •
  • Part 2: Use RemNote as a back-end to export .md files, which Jeykll will statically render as my blog, to build an interactive Math Map

  • I've included examples of other people's Math Maps.
  •
  • Press Esc for an overview, or press the Down arrow on the keyboard or at bottom right)
  •
  • TL;DR they aren't good enough for teaching, so I've made something better (shown on the next slide on the right)
  • A sequenced linear progression doesn't show how subjects inter-link.
  • An un-sequenced mind map doesn't show what the progression is.

Using Remnote as a Static Blog Back-End

  • I want it to export .md files, while preserving the linking structure between nodes.
  • Hannes mentioned this should be possible because Jekyll just parses .md anyway.
  • What do you think would be the simplest way to make this work?
  • e.g. some sort of bash script to strip/insert the right metadata?
  •
  • I eventually want to use RemNote to manage my blog posts as well, keeping a handle on tags and links.
  • That way I can use RemNote to continually write and cross-reference blog posts, but I can still style and augment the content like a normal Static Site

I want RemNote to export the backend of that Math Map (from the slide before), encoded in a tree structure like this site does. I will put it in a 'Documentation' style format (click some nodes to see)

Presently Graph view is unweidly.

It also doesn't render LaTeX 😞

Can graph view be designed to support my workflow: I try to keep a minimum of top-level-rem (nice and tidy, documents only)

Cheeky Bug Report 😉

When dialogs open they sometimes push the viewport around.

Also, note in the bottom left I've increased my "font-size: 22pt;", which resizes some but not all of the icons (I would prefer no icon resizing)

Thanks!

I'm happy to cross-promote, feature me in a Blog and y'all can get a free math poster (once they're printed) 😁
