The Hebrew word for "to know" (yada') is also a word for sexual encounter. While it's tempting to read a sophisticated philosophy or theology into that connection, it is more likely a basic expression of nakedness as vulnerability and knowing as moving past defensive barriers in interpersonal relationships.
